2. The Energization Exercises of Paramhansa Yogananda
Explore the link between will power and energy, and how to strengthen
both. "The greater the will, the greater the flow of energy"
is a universal principle for success in meditation, Kriya Yoga and
practical, daily life. This workshop will make you aware of the flow
of life force within your body, help you direct and strengthen it,
and teach you how to draw upon energy's Cosmic Source. The Energization
Exercises taught in this workshop are practiced daily by those wishing
to receive Kriya Initiation. Step 2 on the Path of Kriya.

The Holy Science:The Truth Behind the Scriptures
Sat. Jan. 12 10-Noon with Lorne Dekun
Sri Yukteswar, Paramhansa Yogananda's guru, received a commission from Babaji
to write a book showing the underlying harmony of all religions, especially
the parallels between the eternal truths of India -- Sanatan Dharma -- and
the Book of Revelations of the Bible. The Holy Science is that book. It
can be difficult to understand, so we will distill only some of the important
points. We’ll also touch on devotional ways to attune our consciousness
with the mighty spiritual power embodied in this book. The Holy Science
contains the basis for all of Yogananda's teachings. One's understanding
of the spiritual path will be deepened through the study of Yukteshwar’s
great book. Lorne Dekun, the Acharya of Ananda Michigan, has been a disciple
of Paramhansa Yogananda for over 40 years. In 1967 he began his studies
with Paramhansa Yogananda’s great direct disciple Yogacharya Oliver
Black, and from 1986 to 1999 was a resident member of Ananda Village and
Ananda Palo Alto in California.
Inspirational Stories from India: Krishna,
Shiva, and More
Sat. Jan. 19 10-Noon with Lorne Dekun
There is a vast body of spiritual stories that come from the Indian tradition.
Just by scratching at the surface we find wonderful gems of inspiration
and insight. Books like the Srimad Bhagavatam and the Shiva Purana are
filled with stories that are a delight to read yet also have profound
spiritual meaning. Yogananda’s mother used stories and examples
from the Mahabharata and the Ramayana to help raise her family of eight
children. In this class we too will be like children in our joyful sharing
of just a few of these stories.
Restorative Yoga
January 26 With Jiavanna 10:00 - Noon $20
Restorative yoga is a practice of being...not doing. In restorative yoga
one enters into postures (asanas) using an assortment of bolsters, blankets,
pillows, etc. In Ananda Restorative Yoga the body is propped in such a
way that the student may stay in the asana for longer periods of time...allowing
deeper relaxation and surrender. We will use affirmations, uplifting music,
and visualizations to encourage active relaxation and inner stillness.

Touch Drawing Workshop
Sat. February 16 with Jiavanna 1-4pm Cost $35
Touch drawing is a simple yet profound process of creating images through
